As one of the first indigenous feature films to come out of the Bahamas, Rain steers us away from the tourist’s perception of a postcard paradise, taking us “over the hill” and into the turbulent life of a young local girl determined to get to know the mother who abandoned her as a child.  The feature debut of writer-director Maria Govan.

New title!...LOFT
 
LOFT is a tense, intriguing murder-mystery in the vein of The Usual Suspects.  The film is directed by Erik Van Looy (The Alzheimer Case (aka The Memory Of A Killer)) and written by Bart De Pauw.   LOFT boasts some of Flanders’ hottest acting talent, including Koen De Bouw, Filip Peeters, Matthias Schoenaerts, Veerle Baetens, Laura Verlinden and An Miller.  The film is produced by Hilde De Laere for production outfit Woestijnvis and will be distributed in Benelux by Independent Films. 

New title!...BEAUTIFUL KATE
 
Based on the novel of the same name by Newton Thornburg.  Written and directed by award-winning actress Rachel Ward, BEAUTIFUL KATE marks her feature length debut.  The film is a mesmerising tale of a family with dark secrets set in the heart of the Australian outback. Stars Golden Globe nominee Bryan Brown (Dean Spanley, Australia); Oscar nominee Rachel Griffiths (Hilary & Jackie, Six Feet Under, Muriel’s Wedding); rising stars Ben Mendelsohn (Australia, Knowing, The New World) and Maeve Dermody (Black Water); and young newcomers Sophie Lowe (in the title role) and Scott O’Donnell.  In post-production.
